Bleeding Hemorrhoids Treatment – What Are Hemorrhoids?
Bleeding Hemorrhoids Treatment
What Exactly Is A Hemorrhoid?
If you are suffering from bleeding hemorrhoids you may well want to know what exactly are hemorrhoids and here in this post we will attempt to give you a short but concise introduction into just that so you can get on with looking for the perfect bleeding hemorrhoids treatment for you.
The condition often called hemorrhoids, or hemroids as some people would spell it, is a uncomfortable condition which is caused by the swelling of the veins that surround the anus and lower rectum, both internally and externally. Many compare the condition as being similar to a hernia as they occur in much the same way.
It is an extremely common condition and some figures show that about half the population of the world will have suffered from hemorrhoids at least once by the time they reach fifty, and a high percentage of those will continue to have regular bouts as the anal tissues will be weakened significantly after the initial case of hemorrhoids!
Hemorrhoids can affect just about anyone, and are considered by most people to be an embarrassing and annoying complaint, but also an extremely painful one. Even though hemorrhoids can be quite painful, the condition can become much worse if it is accompanied by bleeding.
Bleeding hemorrhoids are more common internally and will come about if a vein inside the anus becomes enlarged and inflamed from additional strain that is brought on by constipation amongst other things.
Even though some individuals can manage comfortably without any form of medication when their hemorrhoids are not bleeding, it is very important to look for an effective bleeding hemorrhoids treatment when they are.
Although hemorrhoids might not bleed so much as to cause you to become anemic, they could however, in a small number of cases, be hiding a much more severe problem such as rectal or colonic cancer, and this is why it is always a good idea to err on the side of caution and get an opinion from your Doctor.
Your doctor will, depending on how bad your hemorrhoids are, probably prescribe the use of over the counter treatments or medications. These medications can be in the form of creams or suppositories, but for those who suffer persistently with hemorrhoids or who have a particularly severe case, surgery may even be advised.
Surgery should always be the last option and should be avoided if at all possible. There are a number of different surgical procedures that can be performed and they will be covered here over time but as I have stressed, surgery can be easily avoided by dealing with your hemorrhoids promptly and correctly.
It is always a good idea to get the condition treated as early as possible to avoid the pain and discomfort getting any worse, and there are many treatments that can provide relief. Most of these treatments are those that are prescribed by your Doctor or seen on advertisements that you can readily pick up from your local pharmacy or chemist, here’s the problem…THESE ALL PROVIDE A TEMPORARY SOLUTION TO HEMORRHOIDS!
